Alain Savoie, was born in Quebec City but grew up in New Brunswick’s capital Fredericton. At the age of seven, he started classical piano lessons which he pursued for 10 years.  During this time he also took up drums and eventually the guitar. His first guitar was acquired at the age of 12 and his first 4-track recorder came soon after. The 4-track and the guitar effect pedals and processors (combined with a drum machine and a cheap keyboard) opened a new perspective to his musical approach. Though it was with the electric guitar that he majored in  his university studies in jazz performance, he later on switched programs in electoacoustic studies at Concordia University. During this time, Alain has been involed in almost all recording situations (multi-track, remote and live recordings for music, concerts and film), in both analog and digital mediums. Since his graduation in 2001, Al started doing remixes for a few local artists and caught the attention of Electro-guru David Kristian who put him in contact with WiKKiD Records and worked on several projects with him including film scoring. Alain has also 13 years of experience as a sound engineer at Radio-Canada (CBC) and a project leader at the Erect Spider (UK) and specialized in Dialogue Treatment, Editing, Score and Field recording. Alain headed their Montreal base.  Since that time he scored a few short, award winning films ( Cauchemare Capitonne, Awake. Circadian Rhythms, We Are the Ones)  He wore the sound supervisor hat on the feature film “Dys” by Maude Michaud as well as composer and sound editor on the film.

 Also, Alain has many releases under the name “Synthamesk” from labels around the world which includes Mosyk Records, Sublight Records, Net-Lab, Pavillion 36, Love Love Records, Here’s my Card Records just to name a few.
